Single focus lens
What is a single focus lens?
A single focus lens is a lens used for everyday use or reading glasses.
Single focus lens grade
If you position the grade in the design, it will be in order from the bottom
・ Spherical design
・ External aspherical design (general aspherical design)
・ Inner surface aspherical design
・ Double-sided aspherical design
・ Individual inner aspherical design
・ Individual double-sided aspherical design
There are 6 types.
Difference in comfort depending on the grade of single focus lens
Basically, the higher the grade of the lens, the better the performance of the lens and you can use it comfortably.
The performance of a single focus lens refers to "thickness and weight of the lens", "small enlargement and reduction of the contours of the eyes and face when worn", "wide field of view", etc.
Depending on the shape, frequency, familiarity, etc. of the frame, the superiority or inferiority of comfort may change.
Progressive focus lens
What is a progressive lens? A progressive lens is a lens that has multiple powers, such as a bifocal lens and a bifocal lens.
Even if your ability to adjust is reduced due to aging, you can clearly see multiple distances with one pair of glasses.
Progressive lens grade
When the progressive focus lens positions the grade in the design
・ External progressive design (including general double-sided design)
・ Internal progressive design
・ Double-sided progressive design
・ Individual design
There are four types.
There are multiple grades within the same design.
In addition, there are some lenses for which information on what kind of design the lens is is not disclosed.
* In the case of high-grade double-sided design, it is described as double-sided progressive design or double-sided 〇〇 progressive design.
Differences in comfort depending on the grade of progressive lens
Basically, the higher the grade of the lens, the better the performance of the lens and you can use it comfortably.
The performance of a progressive lens refers to "wide field of view," "less distortion," "easy to focus," and so on.
It affects "comfort" and "easiness to get used to" more than a single focus.
Also, depending on the shape, frequency, familiarity, etc. of the frame, the superiority or inferiority of comfort may change.
