A certified spectacle technician is the only qualification related to spectacles in Japan that is certified and educated by the "Japan Eyeglass Engineers Association" certified by the Prime Minister. There are 3 grades, S grade, SS grade, and SSS grade.
The average grade SS grade passes the graduation test at the time of graduating from the spectacle vocational school, or 5 years or more for high school graduates, 3 years for junior college graduates, 1 year or more for university graduates, and 5 departments. You must pass the qualification test for the 3 practical skills subjects .
The qualification test requires refraction inspection technology and accuracy, frame and lens processing and adjustment, optical knowledge, eye medical knowledge, and management knowledge .
If you do not take the specified number of lectures within 3 years after passing the exam, you will lose your qualification .
It is a qualification that requires you to acquire new knowledge throughout your life.
In addition, since eyeglasses are sold face-to-face, measurement, preparation, and after-sales follow-up are required, and the frame is adjusted to the customer's face to complete the product for the first time , mail-order sales by certified eyeglasses are prohibited .
